I spent over a year looking for a producer to work with me on my album “These Words Aren’t Meant For Me”. I’m glad I did, because in the end I met Adrian Hall and knew immediately that he was the right person for the job.
Adrian is multi skilled in that he can Produce, Engineer & Mix ! In this day and age where budgets are limited finding someone able, and willing, to multi task like this is a real bonus!
Adrian and I had a vision for the album which we discussed early on, and the sound of the final record reflects this. The tracks have a similar texture to them and although they move around in style and approach they always come back to the same overall feel.
Adrian was conscious that as a Singer Songwriter I needed to be at the forefront of the record, and we spent time working on vocal lines and my guitar parts until they felt good.
Adrian’s attention to detail really blew me away – I think we spent 45 minutes tuning a string at one point until we decided to swap guitars ! But this is part of what makes it a great record.
Adrian taught me about the balance between the importance of a raw performance coupled with the precision and consideration of great production. I never wanted an “overly produced” record – I think what we created is just right.
