The little coastal town of Monterey, made famous by John Steinbeck’s novel, Cannery Row. A book I read on my last trip to the USA while traveling around Texas. It’s nice to link up the points now on my return visit to the states. The town is still involved in some fishing but tourism has certainly replaced this as the main industry, I wonder what Steinbeck would think of that? He received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962.
